My husband is a commercial photographer and often gets asked two things.
- What kind of camera should I buy?

Where should I buy my camera?
Unfortunately for us non-photogs, his experience falls into cameras and lenses that cost the same as a small car. But as far as where to go – we can warn you that cheap and reliable rarely go hand-in-hand. There are many shady sites online and sadly, many eBay sellers with glowing reviews that are nightmares.
We have only had good results with B&H Photo in NYC. Their site is top-notch. I ordered cameras as Christmas gifts on the 23rd and received them the next day with no additional shipping charges. I was blown away. Their prices are reasonable, and their inventory is extensive.

If you are looking to find a reliable source for digital camera reviews, head to DPReview.com. Digital Photography Review has an enormous database of camera reviews, including actual images taken with that camera that you can download and review quality. The camera forums are active and interesting.
As studio owners, we always head to these two places first. They are worth bookmarking! Even if you aren’t in the market right now, they are worth noting.
